Indonesia Traditional "Kebaya"

In many parts of Indonesia, the Kebaya is seen as a strong nationalistic symbol and has been strongly supported as a symbol of identity for Indonesian women by prominent figures throughout the nation's history.

Recently, this traditional dress has become recognized internationally as it is used as the uniform for flight attendance (stewardesses) on Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines and Garuda Indonesia.

In every country, you will find different cultures, languages, and custom clothes. Like in Japan you'll find kimono, in arab there are plenty of kaftan and hijab. In Indonesia, we have kebaya. Maybe some Indonesian people think that kebaya is complicated, boring, out of modern fashion, and expensive.

And in our opinion, kebaya is one of Indonesia's culture heritage, that we should preserve. We must preserve kebaya so it won't be gone by the time.

Nowadays, people worn kebaya for formal occusion. Such as wedding party and not just that. Some school and institution wear kebaya for a special day like kartini day in 21st of April, Independence day, etc.

And now, kebaya can redesigned depends on the era. So that is kind of preserving kebaya.

Kebaya had been worn since centuries ago by Indonesian women for their daily costume. So, that's why Kebaya is a original and best costume from Indonesia.

We not only can see kebaya from history, but also from economy. Kebaya can prove and increase our income, example for clothes industry. many countries in europe like kebaya, and import it originally from indonesia. europe models in many contest use kebaya for their performance, because kebaya is well-known in the world.
